The Financial Literacy Programme at BIS is curated to foster the ability to use knowledge and skills to manage financial resources effectively for a lifetime of financial well-being.
We have all had our rendezvous with our piggy banks as children, where the little we saved, our spare change, birthday money or cash gifts received from relatives and family were prized possessions. That's where we began to very subtly attach our sense of responsibility with real life learning.
Financial literacy at BIS fosters the ability to make informed choices and traverse through decision making with a rationale. Thus, spreading the concept of financial literacy and creating financial awareness through a dedicated curriculum focus among children is looked at very strongly.
We start as young as grade 1 through the ‘Ethics Room’ where students use coupons to make purchases in school periodically keeping in mind the accountability, honesty and integrity along with applying their knowledge of Numeracy.
